Alex Laugher is a supervised therapist trained and experienced in providing mental health support and dialectical behaviour therapy skills training to young adults and older teens presenting with complex mental health issues, substance use, and sexual and gender identity-related stressors. He has a wealth of experience working in outpatient addiction treatment programs, and inpatient mental health and emergency department settings. With over 5 years of experience working in the mental health and addictions field, Alex is dedicated to helping individuals navigate barriers and achieve a life worth living.
Alex is completing the final year of his Honours bachelor’s degree in psychology at Brock University, where he has received the Dean’s Honours List Award in Years 1, 2, and 3 of his program. His academic interests are grounded in behavioural neuroscience, clinical psychology, and community-based mental health research. As a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, he demonstrates both scholarly excellence and a commitment to applying psychological science in real-world contexts. He plans to pursue graduate training in clinical psychology in the future.
In addition to his work at Niagara Integrative Therapy, Alex volunteers in the Comparative Behavioural Neuroscience Lab at Brock University. His undergraduate thesis focuses on the impacts of paternal deprivation on the social and behavioural development of offspring during early development.
